The Department of Anthropology and Sociology is looking for a sociologist at the level of Professor/Associate Professor with specialisation or research focus (evidenced by publication) in one of the following areas: health, technology, transformation, gender, social policy, animal-human relations, and climate change.
The Department of Anthropology and Sociology offers a three-year B.A. degree in Anthropology and Sociology. It also offers Honours, Masters (coursework and dissertation)andDoctoral degrees in both disciplines.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervising postgraduate students
- Conducting research and publish
- Providing academic leadership and the ability to lead projects
- Community engagement and outreach
- Academic administration
- Curriculum development and assessment
- PhD in Sociology
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating teaching and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- A significant record of quality peer reviewed publications, preferably in the field of sociology
- A record of successful postgraduate supervision, and
- Evidence of expertise, national standing, and an international presence in his/her field of research
The successful applicant must have a PhD in Sociology as well as a strong record of publications, research, teaching, supervision and the running of research projects at university level. Read more
